Getting to know Team #BossWomxn: Jamie

I am the Team Captain of #BossWomxn. This virtual relay hosted by Run 4 All Women will take place September 21st - 27th, 2020, and cover the 680 miles from Atlanta to Washington, DC. This relay benefits Black Voters Matter, which is an organization that is dedicated to increasing power in marginalized, predominantly Black communities. I will be running to remind people they have power!! I want to utilize our amazing running community to educate and raise awareness for voter registration. I will be highlighting some of the bad ass womxn on my team and learning some fun facts on how they recover in between running, walking, hiking, cycling, etc. Recovery is a key ingredient to self care. It's important to me that everyone on my team practices it!

My first feature will be Jamie.

Morgan: What is your current workout routine?

Jamie: I'm currently following BBG on the sweat app. Circuit training with dumbbells and resistance bands a few days a week, low impact cardio and stretch days. I'm running usually once a week right now.

M: Must have food post run?

J: Usually crave for pasta. If I had a choice, pasta from Italy. I've been craving good Italian good! If it's somewhere local in Seattle, I would say pasta from Il Terrazzo Carmine, Pink Door, or Tavolata.

M: Your ideal pizza slice after a long run?

J: My go to would be a pepperoni pizza from Willmotts Ghost in Seattle

M: Your ideal coffee order after a morning run/walk?

J: This would have to be a vanilla latte hot or iced from Elm Coffee or Storyville in Seattle.

M: Do you use any tools for recovery? (Foam roll, cbd, etc?)

J: I usually foam roll or use a theragun. I incorporate ice/gel packs to sore areas too or I use Saje peppermint halo oil.

M: What does your ideal “lazy sunday” entail?

J: My ideal lazy Sunday would be a walk at any park or just a real rest day with no workouts.

I love getting to know these awesome womxn on my team and I hope this gave you an insight to their amazing personalities as well!
